    Drive.com comparo - Euro v Liberty v Mondeo v Mazda6

Where did all the Euro's KW goto?

It was no surprise to see a photo-finish between the Liberty and Accord Euro in our performance tests, the Subaru and Honda both sprinting from standstill to 100km/h in a satellite-timed 9.6 seconds.

    HONDA ACCORD EURO
    ENGINE 2.4L 4-cyl. POWER 148kW at 7000rpm.
    TORQUE 230Nm at 4200rpm.
    TRANSMISSION 5-sp auto.
    WEIGHT 1555kg.
    FUEL CONSUMPTION 8.9L/100km.

    SUBARU LIBERTY 2.5i
    ENGINE 2.5L 4-cyl.
    POWER 123kW at 5600rpm. TORQUE 229Nm at 4000rpm.
    TRANSMISSION CVT automatic.
    WEIGHT 1432kg.
    FUEL CONSUMPTION 8.4L/100km.

The Liberty is happy to take RON91, has less KW, less torque, consumes less fuel, is AWD, and OMG USES CV.. but ok it weighs more than a hundred kilo less. Is that why the Euro could only keep up with the Liberty's sprint time..?

Unfortunately the Euros 5 sp auto does nothing for its acceleration. It's simply outdated.

Im not surprised at the result at all, kw is not the major factor here. The sube takes 1600rpm less to reach its maximum torque and power output, plus the awd start, and not to mention im sure the sube has a better traction control system, they have been perfecting this for a long time. the euro automatic transmission is a piece of sht mine cl9 tranny included.

my mate got the new euro as a company car and we were doing mulitple
stand still to 100km on the freeway.. it takes forever...

dont forget the interior is much more sleek in comparison to tacky euro lux as well with its fake woodgrain chrome everywhere.

hmmm If I have to choose a liberty, I still go for the old model. The new one looks fugly (my opinion) look @ the front man... looks like the designer draw the front bit in a hurry coz of deadline...

also, the interior too... squareish... like from an 80's car...

    Bye2 Honda... Hello Mazda family
