    do the pistons, rings and rods yourself. will only cost you $1500 for the rebuild. Then u can boost that b1tch up....

    i may take you up on the offer...

    Taking everything apart is the easiest part. You lay it all out, clean everything up, degrease it, polish it, paint it make it look all smick and then putting it back together is a slow occasionally painful process. Bolt by bolt nut by nut reading through manuals using a torque wrench to tighten everything.

    One issue i had which i wasnt aware of when doing a rebuild is always try replacing the cam cap bolts because the heat over time can cause them to weaken and when using the original torque settings i snapped 3 of them. Nothing a bit of patience and a thread removal tool from bunnings didnt fix.

    I have a rebuild video from a guy in the US building a high comp b16a2, crank, rods, pistons, rings, cams, gears, sld, clutch..everything. If both you and luke want i can share it on media fire and you can download it off me.

    email me at fastfwd@lanaddicts.com.au to remind me to upload it on there.

    Its a great video, step by step, slowely shows you all the tips and tricks and the best way to get the most power out of your rebuild. I only once watched it over the night before i started to put the engine back together and that was more than enough to help me with Ring placements and a few recommend tighter torque settings for a high Hp motor.

    let me know

    hmmmm interesting..... i wish i had a carport again to store everything under whilst i work on it.
    Last time at my dad's i had the car there for 3mths, only worked on it from 7pm to 11pm weekdays... very new to cars at the time.

    I may start sourcing some parts....
    If i was gonna rebuild i was thinking b18 motor.

    If i buy a b18 motor only and rebuild it, drive my car till it breaks and then do a conversion! then i would have a b18 turbo and my car would only be undrivable for maybe a weekend.
