262mm Front brake rotors/Disc - To Machine or Buy new?

    Hey guys
Pretty much as topic states. Got A 96 Ek1 with 262mm Front brakes. They are starting to squeel quite bad (when the car is moving and brakes not applied) and not sure weather to have them machined or to purchase some new ones.

    Aproximately.

    Rotor thickness - 21mm
Rotor outside wear lip - 1mm each side
Actually rotor thickness on brake pads - 19mm

Any help would be much appreciated

    Regards Lyle

if the rotors are not already at minimum thickness then just get them machined

it will be stamped on the outside of the discs where the cooling vanes are.
if they are close to the minimum already would mean that you need new rotors as they probably wont clean up at the minimum thickness.

i have some barely used ones from my da9 that i fitted and then changed to slotted rotors. will sell them to ya for $100. not sure if they are compatible, would need to check the centre hub sizes.

they wouldnt take 2mm off when they machine them, only a fraction of a mm... doubt you would need new ones if they are at 21mm now
