    I've compared side by side a 205/50/15 Yoko A539 with a 195/50/15 BS RE-01R and the 195 was at least 15mm wider (~7.5%). The 205 version of the Bridgestone is at least 15mm wider than the 195. This is only one example of a particular 205/50/15 being over 15% wider than another 205/50/15. A little bit more than a few %.

    Have you ever seen a 205 wide Yoko A048 or Toyo R888? They're enormous!

    I'll repeat it again, the numbers aren't to be taken as gospel. They're a "model" moreso than a measurement.

    So am I - A539 and RE-01R are both street tyres.
