DC5 K20A3 with JDM Type R Intake Swap.

    Hey guys,
I thought i would share my ideas on what im going to do to my K20A3.
Now awhile ago i did ask people what i should do and most said "buy a type R"
But i love my DC5 and im not selling..

Also some people said "swap engine to a Type R"
but im not going to do that.. lol

This is what i had in mind, i know it's not gunna be faster than a type R but i wanna see how much you can pull from a K20A3.

ATM my car has 2.25" exhaust from the cat, 17"wheels and dropped on Skunk2 springs

This is what i wanna do:
JDM K20A Intake or Skunk2 Intake
JDM K20A throttle body or Skunk2 throttle body
    Injen CAI
    T1R headers
    Catback
    Heavey Duty Clutch
    Light weight Flywheel
    Hondata re-flash or K-Pro
    Tein SS coils.
    Weight reduction (back seats out)
    Stut brace rear and front
    Mugen Sway bars
16" wheels with semi slicks (track days)

This will hopfully bee done in the next year or so.

Whats your thoughts? and no, im not swapping to a Type R cos i do wanna see what i can get outta this motor

Even if you did all of that I still think a stock Dc5R will be quicker.

And cost 1/2 to buy compared to what you're going to do.

Timmy, get yourself a JRSC kit that comes with a Kpro and a set of decent headers with cat back and you've spent just as much as your list with double the power gain......or a K24 swap!

Thats what I'd do if I 'Had' to mod a K20A3...

    More details please.. lol
hmm im all bout saving money.
Everyone hates on the K20A3's, but i raced my mates stock EP3R and i stayed with him, it's not as slow as people think,
EP3R only pulled bout 2 cars on me, and i stayed with him through corners, he just had a slight pull away in 3rd to 4th gear.

If your into saving some money IMO get the RBC, it will bolt straight on if you cut the watercooler part off. The throttle bodies won't do anything for you so just keep your stock one. The hondata is going to be the one that will make the biggest difference to your power.

Don't bother with the strut bars. You won't feel any difference if you do have them or don't have them.

    Yeah thanks,
IMO im still only 20 and looked at DC5R's but they were outta my price rabge and Insurance was heaps.

Also i would still like to see what i can get outta this car.
Maybe in a few years time when i been working full time for longer i will sell it and buy a DC5R.

No one supports the fact i wanna see what a K20A3 can do.
yeah i do understand and know how much a DC5R is better than a base modle...
