To me it sounds like it'd be a one off conversion.

    Really?

lol, wouldn't picture Toyota guys doing that.

If your mate hits up the MR2 forums he may get more help there.

There's some lotus elise's that are race only with K20 conersions, probably start your research from there as it's the same platform (midship RWD)

I wouldn't say one off. Theres heaps done in the lotus and they kill. Im sure if you focus more on the american forums you'll find answeres there.

Your mate should expect to pay in the vicinity of 30 grand if he isn't doing a lot of the work himself. It's a shame Aus doesn't have the K support that the US does.

a company in japan called HALFWAY, specialises in this conversion

maybe this might help too. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/ar.../t-127075.html

and on a side note iam pretty sure you could take it to a performance automotive store, and they would give you drive in and out price.

couldn't pick a worse car to spend money on, everyone in oz who has spent in excess of 60k on one to build performance gains is well and truely over this car lol

begin to research rear cooling now and save yourself alot of troubles which will continue to happen often

There are street-driven Elises with k20 conversions in Sydney. Seen one with my own eyes.
