B18c Turbo Engine holding back?

A mate has a b18c turbo,
After 6 grand the car splatters and holds back.
Would this be because the obvious reason that he needs a tune or is there something else he is missing that could be a easy fix?

If its obvious it needs a tune then it needs a tune.

Fact is it could be anything cause we don't know anything about the car.

$6k = $0 if crap parts were used and no one knows what they are doing. You could easily start from scratch again.

Could be a easy fix or a big fix. What is it actually doing and can you advise what the setup actually is?

Is it running a tunable ecu? Otherwise It'd might be a good start!

like above need more info about the car and setup..........

if it has larger injectors it will cause it to cough and splutter on a stock ecu.....

There are alot of things that can cause that.
But sounds like the car is misfiring or something
Are the sparkplugs fouled?

^^ I would be looking at ignition problem also.. Check leads, spark plugs, and give dizzy cap a clean on the inside..
