Engine Immobiliser (Steal Stopper)

Hey all

I just picked up a 99 civic gli from the auctions.

It has a steal stoppers immobiliser installed and I can't seem to get the remote to work. My guess is it just needs to be re synced since it hasn't had batteries for a long time.

Problem is I don't have the model name for any of the stuff (just some general owners manual which sucks) and the shop says only they can resync/fix it for at-least $55...

Anyone have any ideas?

I can't find anything about steal stoppers on the net except a few people saying how crap their systems are.

they use to be good many years ago, today they have but dropped off the alarm scene.
