    how to remove the chrome side strips?

    hey i was wondering whats the easiest way to remove the chrome strips along the side, i absoluately hate chrome so imma respray them black. whats the easiest way? dental floss and hair dryer or is it just clip on type. i havent really looked at it yet but has anyone done this before?

    dont remove them, just respray it lol. im respsraying as well soon. if u remoev em, it'll leave like a gap along the car and it looks shit.

    You could try using masking tape and newspapers on the doors and any areas you don't want paint on. Carefully tape over any gaps in between the plastic and the chrome so that when you spray, paint won't leak into the gaps. That would probably be the easiest way as you won't need to remove anything. I haven't done something like this to my car before but it's how I would do it. Hope this helps.

    haha serious? so just spray straight over the chrome? wat about paint strippin it and wat not? wont it peel if i spray straight over? and wat paint should be used? just a can of black touch up?

    Yeah that's true. You will probably have to sand the chrome part, prime it and then spray it. I'm just not sure if that part is actual metal or plastic that's been painted chrome. If it is plastic then you should be able to strip it off, prime and then paint.

    hrmm.. i think i mite just spray over the chrome, it should work. thanks for the input.

    nah dont need to sand it down. just clean it well, prime it, then spray it black.

    XD haha i agree best to clean, mask, prime, spray but you will always notice some color difference.
