Brake Lamp Displaying constantly on Gen4 Prelude (1992)

    Hey All,

My friend has this stupid light showing constantly on my 1992 Gen4 Prelude,

I dont know how to get rid of it...

I did a search and only found a result for a older model prelude, but it didnt help.

Anyone know how to fix this??

    Cheers.

Brake light switch is broken. Replacement from Honda are around $15.

    it would vary.

could be a brake light out, could be fault switch, could be low brake fluid or any other numerous things.

Your best bet is do download a manual and work through the troubleshooting process in there rather than buy and replace things, thats the expensive way and might not address the real issue.

I had this problem with my 3rd gen recently. I noticed broken plastic on the floor mat. The "cushion" that fits between the pedal and the switch was broken, leaving a space and the brake switch open. Just look up at where the pedal meets the switch and I reckon you'll spot the problem. I replaced mine with a rubber grommet (giant thumb tack looking) type thing I had hanging around.

If she has LED's the brake light is continuously thought by your car to be broken.
