looking for a 1-din head unit

so im my lude ive just got the kenwood kdc-x700, and two front speakers and the two 6x9s at the rear. i had no sub no amp, and i loved the sound it was making as it was crystal clear and had enough bass, to make people think i had a sub. didn't want an actual sub tho, thought it would make the SQ shitter.

anyway, so im looking to buy a another car soon, and its probably going ot have some shit house 2din dvd player or a 1din shit head unit.. so i wanna replace it with a good HQ 1 din head unit,

*that has a the direct ipod connecter from the rear, i dun want to connect the cable from the front, and have to constantly remove the cable or hide it once i leave the car... if its from the rear, i can easily just leave the cord/ipod somewhere hidden.

*i quite liked the flip out thing the kenwood kdc-x700 had, so if the next head unit that does this would be a plus too.

*has to have good SQ by just running the 4 speakers, i want it to be clear and have depth..

*nothing really expensive, i dun mind second hand, but i need to kinda know what models to look for first hehe

so any recommendations?

getting a head unit isnt going to make the sound system sound good, its different in every car, it varies on every car you get. the integra isnt going to sound good with just a upgraded head unit, to produce good sound, your going to need better speakers and if possible an amp to power them but it wont have as clear as a bass as the lude did as the parcel tray isnt solid and hangs free... minhs car had everything and still sounded not as crisp as the accord does.

as for head unit, im not sure, although just a heads up.

you have to find something that has time alignment if u are going full sq also look at brand such as rainbow ad infinity steg etc.

give us a rough budget, something more specific than 'nothing really expensive' cus that can mean diff things to some people.. i might spend $1000+ on the HU alone, while others will use that for their whole system.. nah'mean?

most quality head units have decent sq but nothing to rave about. you'd notice and gain a lot more 'clear & depth' with splits, amps & subs along with tuning & installation. what else do you have in the car atm?

what tuning features do you want? basic bass/mid/treble eq'ing fine with you? or do you want time-alignment/correction & comprehensive parametric x-overs?

all in all id probably look at alpine or eclipse head units.

300 budget? 500 max. how much are splits, im looking to get splits, 2 front speakers and 2 6x9s. i haven't got the car yet, i just sold mine and all the cars ive looked at don't have the SQ i want. just the basic features, dunno nthing bout the time allignment?

mmm there should be a few alpine ones with the features you want (including rear ipod connection) for 500ish.

price of splits vary, but id budget at least $300. in your case id probly spend 4-500 on splits, 200 MAX on rears.. or 4-500 on splits, 200 on sound deadening. either way favour the fronts..

JVC Head unit, not sure what model.

TOUCH SCREEN, Head flips out and is adjustable .. etc.. Voice control (talks as u press.. next etc..)

heres a pic..
its 2nd hand im asking $150

3 rca outputs too btw, its missing the remote so yeh get the remote and ull ahve a mad head deck 4yourself.

Eclipse head units come to mind for SQ.

I can also help you with Splits/Amps/6x9s when your ready to have a look.

Friend has this deck.. i think its a good deck ( has alright technical info), but looks.. i reckon its shit house.... yeah wow its touchscreen blah blah.. has a gay dolphin swimming around as its graphical picture tooo LOL./// but im sure u cna change that picture lol/ and also has this gay rainbow BS

lol yeh u can change it. wen i had it installd i made it a car with subwoofers n shit lol its ok .. i got rid';ve it cause of my remote problem lol. i lyk sitting far back .. so yeh i hateee fkn getting up to change volume n shit lol.

It does look good but u gota admit..

start the car, all u hear is

ANGLE 1, JVC. Playing Track..
then music starts slowly undimming lol, it has MAD EFFECTS but yeh.. eh.. lol now i lyk everything done fast fast fast lol. kenwood All the wayyyyyy !

still stand by eclipse or alpine

theyre discontinued but see if you can find a alpine 9887/9885. theyll be under 500 second hand and itll be well worth it, better than any crap jb has.
