i was told that i should keep the car @ 3000 revs and not go over 3000 revs before my first service and other ppl say before 5000 km's.

i just did my first service last week, next service is due in 10000k's.

should i wait till the 2nd service before i rev higher than 3000 revs?

Drive it hard from day one not red line it but about 3-4g , if you baby your car your seals won't be worn in properly. And performance would suffer down the track. Mechanic working on subarus wrx's drove two cars, one that was driven very carefully and one that was given from the showroom floor. which car felt better after 50000km;s ?

the one that was given from day one. Just overall performance was better, but a rebuilt engine should be treated lightly compared to new.

I personally believe in this and have given driven it over 3000rpm in the first 1000kms now currently on about 2300km's. If it stuffs up you still have warranty, but highly unlikely

but as advice depends on you it's each to there own.
