so old that that 'FEO R' is just 'FEO'.

honda used to also use a lower quality 'HMO' (honda motor oil) for anything not type-R or NSX but they switched to FEO for everything except for hybrids which use special LEO hybrid oil

Re engine Oil - I have an excellent sugggestion...!

I recommend AMSOIL, 100% Synthetic, either 20W-50, for racing and sprints etc., or 10W-40 for Street use. When you look at all the independent tests that have been done, AMSOIL is well ahead in all categories. It was in nthe market before Mobil 1, and beats that in all tests also. I use it exclusively and have done so after using Shell and Redline, that are excellent oils also. I used to be an Agent for AMSOIL, but not any more because they want me to stock far too much to get a good buying price, otherwise I would still sell it. Now that I am no longer selling it, I can give it an unbiassed plug

I wouldn't use anything thicker than 10w-40 in my B18. That guys running 0w-60 or whatever in his NA B16 is a nutter. Yes there is better protection, but less flow flow. I think you would spin bearings if you rev hard on a track using that stuff.

5W-30 is fine for the street, even in hot, harsh aussie climates. If you are scared it's too thin... then use 5W-30 for winter, and 10W-40 for summer.

Mineral oil is fine too. Just need to change it earlier.

i know stuff all about oils and went for a 5-30 a while back... VTEC chewed through it so quickly!
winter doesnt get too cold in Bris so i'll be sticking with the 10-40 over the coming months

I saw Valvoline Synpower 5w40 5L at the local auto store for under $50. I might try it later on.

Hmm ... and people said 5w-40 was a tad too heavy for hondas when I was selling my ELF oils ay?

5w-40 fully synthetic oil is the best ranged oil on the market.
And I would recommend it for any highly enthusiastic driving. Too bad I cant get ELF anymore...
