    DC2R Gearbox

Wondering if anyone can help me...

My mechanic reckons i need a new gearbox...

anyone know if its worth rebuilding current gearbox or better getting a new one?

I have heard the oem gearbox is best for the type r but anyone care to comment on other options?
if so... where is the best place to buy one?

    cheers

    its a 2000 model dc2r

rebuild the gearbox and chuck in a KAAZ lsd. Worth rebuilding it i reckon, a new one cost too much.

new one gonna cost u a arm and leg, not easy to fine one

u can find second hand one on here for around 1500-2000

what's wrong with the gearbox first?
depends on his definition of rebuild, change of bearings is relatively cheap compared to say new gearsets/synchros

surely rebuilding is cheaper than trying to find and buy new.

sorry to hijack a little, whats the difference between ITR box and VTi-R box? Is it all internal or are there external differences?

Also, t0niies, i thought type r box was LSD already?

as vinny has asked, whats wrong with yours?

I just rebuilt mine, i only had to change the ISB and put in new synchros because gears 1,2,3 were crunching at high revs
