I just went to autobarn, bought some plastic primer, paint, and clearcoat

removed the surround, cleaned it up with metho/rubbing alcohol,

sprayed light coats of plastic primer 2-3 coats (let set for 10 min in between intervals)

make sure its dry, then got my random silver paint (Clean Silver) from autobarn, and shot it with as many coats as needed until the color matched.

then when its dry, give it a few shots of clearcoat. Turned out fine for a backyard job

from what i remember when i did mine (using spray gun and compressor), i had o put on a few coats of one hit spray putty/primer and sand it flat before i hit it with black because unlike other panels, it has little dots? and is not complete flat if u know what i mean. If you want complete mirror reflection, well...not really necessary for silver but was necessary for black, i would do the above before spraying it with colour.
