Changing automatic gear knob on CU2

    Hi all,

I read through many previous threads about changing the gear knobs, but couldn't find one on changing the automatic gear knob on CU2.

Does anyone know how to remove the knob?

Also does the top botton gear knob works on the CU2?
    E.g. Momo auto shift knob

CU2's gear button is on the front.

    Thank you!

i dont think a top button (if thats what u meant by botton) is a good idea. because its hard to apply force with ur thumb and pull at the same time. i like the stock knob. just wish i got the woodgrain

Anyway, any idea on how to remove the knob?

I managed to remove both the shift knob and boot.
    It's actually quite easy.

    To remove the shift knob:
    1. Pull down the silver ring under the knob.
    2. Remove the front cover of the shift knob.
    3. Remove the two screws on the front (may need to put the gear into D or S position).
    4. Pull out the shift knob.
    5. Done!

    To remove the shift boot:
    1. Pull out the entire center console (the whole thing with the cup holder)
    2. Pull out the shift panel (the one with the gear indicator, i.e. P, R, N, D, S)
    3. Pull out the plastic silver-coloured tray that holds the shift boot
    4. Remove the staples to replace the boot

This gear knob is pretty cool looking. Will this fit the CL9 Euro?

    Yes, it should.
I've seen many people done it on the CL9.
The steps should be the same or similar.

It's actually not that hard...all the 2006+ CL9 euros have a top button, I haven't had any issues doing that before.
