[QLD] dan's stuntastic egg beater (EG4)

yeh, im from qld, about a week ago i picked up an egg cheebic.

got a similar post goin on jdmst, but i figure may as well share it here. will update this shit real soon

    - dan.

edit: long ass story short, ex-melb now livin on the gold coast, have my poopra up here with me, drinks a shitload of fuel, this year im working about an hours drive up near logan/bris, so needed a daily. looked at some na6, 4dr r34, cappucino, blah blah. but always wanted some vtak, so an egg made sense. wanted something i could beat around, pull to bits and do lots of diy, drive the shit out of and generally not worry to much about parking or dents and shit.

so picked this up, those from the bris area or hi-power racing may know the car...

(pics are a bit deceiving coz i jack up the contrast a bit, but its roof is hell faded and body is covered in dents and scratches, and most of the trim around the windows are falling off, also can't roll down the passenger side window)

first drive home; was pouring with rain, car was stiff as, bouncing around on the freeway, no traction at all, no a/c, windows fogging up, lots of rattling, creaking, possible snapping and cracking lol...

such a different ride from my usual, which makes 150 feel like 50

^^Agreed, 17's look good on it, little bit different from the typical jdm (which i also like)
If you wanted to swap em for some fat as stock rims with hubcaps i'd be happy too haha
Not putting miles on your built cars is like not having sex with your girlfriend so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.

yeh the rims themselves are actually nice. two major things for me tho, (1) the ride is low and they scrub, would rather more meaty tyres than rim diameter, (2) its gonna get driven a lot and looking for smaller rims to bring down the price of quality rubber. i already spend a killing on maintaining the supra.

glad to know that the civic looks good with them on tho as its going to take me some time to change em etc, procrastination king lol.

    -------------------------------------

so the cheebic was a bit rough around the edges and needed some TLC. so on the cheebic's first weekend, a mate called me up wanting to do some work on the cars...

here you can see the front driver corner of the engine bay had some cracks in it that needed fixing...

so we taped up the fender ready to start the work..

then we thought f it, we better see how deep they go, so off came the fenders...

we were worried it might be structural, but lucky it wasn't. so we got to sanding...

    jdm lunch break

    back to work...

in between setting/drying times, we did service/fluid changes, thought id give the FEO a go as many people say its decent stuff... comes out like water lol, not used to such thin oil :P

had the wheels off and was able to inspect more of the goodies underneath... needed a bit of work though, as ive noticed the tie rods, cv joints and general geometry is all out... the ride is rough as balls with the JIC fronts and bilstein rears... makes for a fun but impractical daily drive

running outta time for the chassis work, we primered it up and saved it for next weekend (will put more pics up soon to show exactly wat goin on there)
