    cat-back exhausts

    hey guys,

just want to know everyones opinions on different catbacks for a dc2R

is there really much difference between different catbacks?

e.g. hks hi power , buddyclub propec, 5zigen ... and the rest...

whats the best one do you guys think? (power-wise) thanks

Really it all comes down to quality and design.

Performance wise. If it was mandrel bent with minimal restriction (ie, resonators) Theyre all pretty much the same. Given that they all have the same diameter piping.

The main difference is noise and how they handle the heat, along with sudden temperature changes. Ie Going over a puddle on a rainy day.
Then there are brands that make super light exhausts. Really only effective with track cars.

With n/a motors alot of the power (on the exhaust side) lies within the header design and catalytic converter flow. A catback is there to minimise noise and stabilise the pressure and velocity of the exhaust gases.

From my research it comes down too sound when dealing with higher end brand products, the HP gains are all very close, if you want loud go with one of the buddyclub ones, or if you want a quieter note go with fujitsubo or mugen, i went with fujitsubo rm01a and couldn't be happier quite at idle and screams when you get up it, but as said above most HP gains are mainly from the header.
**If I have helped you out please feel free to give PQ (post quality point), cheers**

96VTi-R is on the money... The header is more important than the cat back.
Of the exhausts that sound good & work well on the DC2...
    You can't go wrong with T1R / Fujitsubo / Mugen / SK2

Stay away from 5 Zigen (Too restrictive) & Buddyclub (Too noisey)

Ive got an RM01A system on my civic (EK1 with B18C swap) and its been really good its dead quiet when its not on load and screams when you give it some. However it was too quiet for me so i went to the exhaust shop and got the resonator closest to the cat taken off and replaced with 307 stainless and it sounds amazing now, still quiet under load but such a better note you wouldnt believe it.
