This might make me sound old, but i remember when first cars were beaters that cost under 5k.

Was initially looking at an S13 or EG, but as i saved more money i kept saying to myself, if i save another $2000 i cant get an even better car, then as i saved that $2000 i said to myself again if i save myself another $2000 i cant get an even better car etc etc etc kept going on until i got to the $28,000 mark then couldn't help it no more and bought the DC5.
unfortunately hit my front bar at southside honda today.. little scratch to the lip. i didn't realise how high the drive way's were.

Nah just kidding. welcome and nice car
love the DC5's Wish mine would tranform to one.
i would of chosen an S2k as well!! just for l33t factor. but would of gotten raped by insurance and the fact that it was an older model S2k and it had a habit of sliding out, didn't really feel like wrapping myself around a pole yet as im just a n00by p-plater.
you saved $28k by saving $175 a weeek??? Thats insane man, your a great saver!!! Im saving double that every week and struggling to get to 11k hahaha
saved heaps when i was little, coz didn't know how to spend money back then, and then all my kfc etc work from 15 - 17 was saved coz i wanted to be the cool kid who drove an S2000 to high school, but that didn't happen.. lol.. and after i got my dodgy job was only able to save up 8k.
Primary School Years - 6k. (one broken tooth = $50 )
High School Years - 14k. (volunteering to do 12 hour shifts on weekends and holidays were so shitty, especially when you only get $8 an hour.)
Tertiary Study Years - 8k.
Was hard, but i still managed to have fun, and back then i didn't have a car to run and everything was free. Now i'm too pov to do anything to my car.
