Hi All - Another member with ITR DC5

    Hi All.

Just wanted to say Hi. Im Dean. I bought a silver '01 ITR DC5 back in October last year and have just got around to writing on the forum.

I signed up some time ago as I have looked forward to buying an ITR for quite some time ago, almost buying one in fact when I bought my 2000 s14a 200sx back in 2002 that I had for roughly 5 years and loved also.

I've done plenty of wakefield track days in my previous cars, and I am now looking into possibly doing a couple of eastern creek days in the ITR!

Mines completely stock and very happy with it. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys. I'm in the Western Sydney area.

No mods planned mate. Once i get the 'mod bug back, i cannot stop spending i have found from history (s14 200sx you nasty thing!)

Its staying stock i rekon. Maybe new speakers maybe and thats about it....

Since i bought it last year and its a 2001 model, its second hand... very happy with it though.

I thought Type R's were race cars made for the road!

What are the first things to be changing mate? Ive done plenty of track work in the 200sx i used to own, so whats gonna go first on the ITR?

    Welcome Deano.
I think you can survive on the track as long as your maintenance is good.
Just buying new speakers will probably kick the mod bug into gear.

Good luck with the DC5, how does the power compare to your S14?

    Thanks Red_EG4

Thats what i thought about the track. I am well aware of the brakes fading, the tyre pressures, helmet, blah blah blah, but as we all know, mods are nice, but....

straight line the s14 pretty good going. i love the dc5 though; it makes you feel really involved with what the car is doing. plus i dont have to think too much about what the car is doing anymore. i can spend more time driving hard and less time thinking what do i do if "that happens". both great cars dont get me wrong. the dc5 really suits me i think. should save me money instead of going to the go kart track at eastern creek too now ;-)
