Isn't it usually the other way around?
Short ram = Shorter Pipe for response + low end power, but heatsoaks
Long ram = Longer pipe to draw colder air from front of car for max peak power but laggier because of the longer pipe and also can be more prone to hydrolock.

i was of that opinion as well,

    minus the hydrolock though

sounds similar to AEM V2...Keep your eyes peeled on the 4sale section on s2ki.com, they pop up every now and then.

yeah the K&N is good, they sound good. But really it becomes a prefrence and what you like the look of....... Injen, AEM V2, K&N, PRM all sound good. The power gains really aren't worth mentioning..... with these intakes it's all about sound.

i had my little experiments with intakes, airbox lid off, gutted the inside of the box. i even found a diy where u can actually lay foilsinde the box and wen u drive it
the hissss noise and vtect is much louder. wen i got a dyno run done on my car. it had lost 1kw overall witht he airbox lid off.
i blocked the resonator and gutted the wall. then i decided 2 take the box out all together and just run a pod off the universal piping kits. that was very loud but i lost a lot of response...so i started saving up and brought the mugen carbon fibre ram intake system and since then i havent looked back. sounds insane. not 2 loud and deep. its a nice high pitch vtec sound so the car doesnt look like its making all this tough noise but isnt really going anywhere. throttle response has increased dramatically and every other s2k driver thats been in my car says themselves that they can feel the difference my intake makes. so to me it was sort of worth it. it aint always about wat gain it gets overall. its about how much of that overall power can be delivered consistantly thorugh the power band. on average i had from dyno results an extra 5kw hit at vtec range.
