    Wow, thats exactly what happen to mate of mine 2003 Euro last year. Cracked Power steering pipe out of warranty fixed 600 bucks later.

    If they do a recall in Australia, then no matter what age or build date, it will be fixed for no cost to the owner.

    If the issue is very serious and life threatening, i am sure HA will do the recall....They may be ignoring the pinging issue as the pinging is not a threat for the human life and it may be a threat for the life Car engine life...

    Hope the issue is only in USA models, same as what Toyo gone through with recalling corollas..

    My CL9 had the cracked power steering hose problem in 2007 and it was fixed under warranty.

    i also had this issue on my 05 euro right before my warranty ran out. luckily i had extended warranty on it. Looks like it is an issue.
