So to mount the ballast, you have to drill a hole through the dust covers? How long is this installation process?

Yes that is correct.

Depending if you have ever taken half of your bumper + lights off before maybe 2 hours

Takes like 5 minutes to install... I wouldn't bother pulling the bumper off to mount the ballast behind it (plus what happens if it fails and needs to be replaced)?

I just cable tied my ballasts to random places in the engine bay. It's been over 6 months now and they still work perfectly - and I always have the headlights on when I drive. Just don't attach them to anything that gets hot obviously.

Where did you buy the HIDs conversion kit from? Will it fit a CU2 standard model?
