Bridgestone Vs Yokohama ... which one?

hey guys im faced with a decision between these two tyres ...

    Bridgestone Adrenalin Potenza RE001 205/55 R15
    $190ea fitted
    http://www.bridgestone.com.au/tyres/...Adrenalin.aspx

    Yokohama S-Drive 205/55 R15 or 205/55 R15
    $225ea fitted
    http://www.yokohama.com.au/ourtyres/...spx?tyreid=206

these are going on Dc2 fat fives on a EG8 Civic Gli Sedan with Tein S-Tech and stock shocks

i really wanted Yokohama Advans ... but they didnt make them in a R15 =/

i have the same Bridgestones on my liberty with WRX wheels (R17) and they arnt too bad but the yokohama look like they would be a better gripping tyre

i dont really know what to look for tho ... so any help would be appreciated =D

Hi i have Yokohama S Drive 225/40/18 on my car. Its very good for cornering at high speed and sticks to the road no problem. I also need to point out that it lasts for a long time. I've been using it for 50,000 kms approximately and still have plenty of meat on the tyres ( I reckon it still has about 30-50k to go). I was pretty supprised myself.
One down side is the noise from the tyres. its not the noisiest tyre i've ever got but it is annoying when i want to listen to the radio/music.

from what i can tell bridgestone re001 grip better and are more flexible for wet and dry but dont last as long

yoki s.drive are a harder compound and dont grip quite as well, but last longer

im leaning toward the bridgestone - its cheaper and the quality is there

    ha ha great help Leonard.

Do they still make the yoko A539? and in your size..... Good tyre. reasonable price too. got them on the front of the mini, they have lasted a good while and withstood a number of 1/4 mile attempts. i went from pirelli's to these. much grippier.

never tried the s drive, just got re001's about 2 months ago as well and grip very well in the dry. a little more slippery in the wet, i think it's because of the stretched tyres. not sure.. overall, great bang for buck tyres.

Been using RE001 for 3 years now. Love them. However with a higher torque engine, it is easy to break traction at the lower gears in the wet.

both tyres are ok you need to get ad07's or re-01r the real bridgestone tyre or even better re-11

why do you need 205 for 195 is good enough

yeah, 205/55/15 is going to be SO fat on your car... abit oversized i think. Civic's generally use something closer to 195/55/15... but if you want 205 wide, go 50 profile.

as for tyre type... i got no idea.

I've run 13.2 on Bridgestone RE001 205/55 R15 so IMO there very good plus there great in the wet witch most pro tyres aren't

Would love to see what times I'd get on Yokohama

+1 for RE001's. Absolute love them.. anyone know any other tyre that would be as good as them? only for everyday driving and good for wet/dry conditions. been hearing that kuhmo ku31 and ku36 are pretty up there aswel? .. but heard that ku36 is more a semi slick tire? .. anyone had comparison with f1 eagles and re001's? ive only heard that there only good when dry.
