Build up pics of Datsun Fairlady track car

i stumbled across some pics of the build up of my old mans racecar so i thought i would share

not sure on 100% of the specs because i was a bit young but its a ca18det around 400 horsepower dry sump full fiberglass shell was mainly raced at qr but im not sure what times it was running ill have to ask around. it was really wild and known as the datsun on steroids lol

Thanks guys.. yeah he ended up rolling it twice.. that was the first time.. the second time it was end to end on the middle section i think... dont think the video of that exists any more... then the next session out in his mx5 he had a prang in that aswell.. lol will try to find some more pics

and nuh dad himself didnt build the car but some locals here in hervey bay did it

heres a couple misc pics i found
this ones from the 1 hour race he did at qr.. thats dad holding the umbrella (needed to have 2 drivers for the race)

and this was our tent / bus settup we rocked.. was pretty sick had kitchen bathroom tv dvd player double bunk and 2 queen sized beds that drop down. and when you put the car in the beds lift up and the car has ramps underneath

this is the only pic i found from after the rollover... was pretty twisted up lol

and heres some pics of his mx5 if any one is interested..

i think he got the mx5 for something a bit more challenging.. they may be slow as hell but the racing was intense

nicely built car. shame about the roll amazing what that roll did to cause the chassis to twist like that, lucky its not a standard road car without bars.
