    problem with Em1...

So last friday me and some mates decided to clean out the entire engine bay over and under. so we took out the intake and cover the hole with a plastic bag

then we hosed it all down then degreased it.. then hosed it down again
and scrubbed away at some random stuff on some metal parts.
    basically made it really clean.

    but now...
    - the speedometer is on and off all the time... (mainly off)
    - Idles at 1-1.2 and then suddenly drops to 500 sometimes and sometimes even the engine turns off.
    - the power i get when i push the accelerator is equivalent to my previous civic BREEZE
    - and it sounds like a rexy...

    wtf...

some ppl rekon water got in somewhere...
what does that mean? water got INTO the actual engine? or what?
and if so... what can i do now?

it might be that you got some water in one of the cylinders and your car is currently running on 3 cylinders

if it sounds like a rexy then its most likely that one or more of you cylinders is not firing, this would also explain the power loss. try taking out your leads and putting them back in to see if that makes a difference, if not take out your leads and measure the resistance of them with a multimeter and set the multimeter to 200k ohms, also measure the length of your leads as well.

if you see water where the spark plugs sit, do not remove the spark plugs untill you have cleaned all the water out of there.

i just done a conversion on my car and it was doing that, i pulled the plugs out and there was f**king water in there, dont know how it got there tho?!?!?!

i blew it out with a compresor until there wasnt a drop in there, changed the sparks plugs and the car was running healthy.

Changing your sparks (dizzy, plugs, possibly leads) should fix the rexy sounds, its probably just water seeping into plug area and making it run on 3 cylinders, but i dont think it would fix the speedo problem, i assume you hit a sensor when you were cleaning? Possibly the VSS? (vehicle speed sensor)
