99% sure that's fake. 54102-smt-e01 is the part number for fd2r shift knob, which is 6 speed.

    edit: found them here

"This is a Type-R **style** OEM Shift Knob" Place of origin - china.

Looks like they just package them in genuine boxes.

That being said, doesn't look too bad though!

Did some cleanup on the gearbox.. so much crud on the slidey part..

Then cleaned up a bit below it with some compressed air, dettol & WD40.. areas nobody will ever see

I found a loose screw in a weird place too.. dont think I caused it myself either

This is where I got it from:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/250883533...84.m1497.l2649

To be honest I wasnt expecting it to be a genuine type r knob for the fact that it was only $30. I noticed the item location was Japan, but when I tried tracking the item it came up with "Hong Kong Post" which made me think... Interestingly they went through all that trouble to seal it up in a clear plastic with genuine Honda stickers as well. Anyways, it feels quite solid and durable so hopefully it will last.

No doubt it will last, it is after all just a chunk of metal At least you avoided the type R tax!

Does it screw straight onto your shifter or is held on by those grub screws?

feels way better, even though I dont have coilovers I have still noticed a stiffening up of the rear. But I can't really go too hard as I saw my rear tyres are ggoooooonnnneee, the wire is sticking out and everything. At least it'll give me a chance to finally put on my bbs rs's...
