    Exclamation Adding Turpentine To Pump Fuel = Boost In RON??

    Heard a crazy mate of mine doin it in a crappy Mazda2 to increase RON! power blahh blahh

    Does it work?

    Worth a try, jus once?

    Ration was 1L per 40L's

    Turpentine does not significantly increase the octane rating. The ones which do are toluene, xylene (both extremely toxic) and ethanol (can use methylated spirits since that is 95% ethanol + 5% other crap).

    Maximum 1L of methylated spirits for every 9L of fuel. But even that could corrode your seals and harden the fuel lines since the D15 was not built with ethanol in mind.

    Yup, the same effect. You end up with soething like 93-94 RON if I remember correctly..

    petrol chemical sentists get paid a bit for a reason, the advancement in most of the big comapnies premium unleaded petrol is amazing, not alot a home chemist will achieve apart from negative results and time wasted lol

    however in diesel there's alot that can be improved...
