i think the point they're making is if you get an aftermarket bar, you don't need the lip.

euromandeluxe hit the nail on the head. and depending on what after market bar you get, it should look way better than stock with a lip as well

Well for around 700 bucks you can only buy a poor fitting aftermarket replica bar.

I think 99-03 front bar is the same design or even using the same front bar.

Anyhow I searched the forum and found that there are some places selling non original ones prepainted for around $500 but I think the place is in Sydney. I looked up ebay in the states and they have lips for $20 - $40 USD + shipping but for that price it may have massive gaps etc. Does anyone know if there is any place in Melbourne that sells them and that I can possibly go and check for fitment ? I prefer not to buy fibreglass ones. Will be posting in WTB section. Thanks.
my mate jus purchased the cheap 40 dollar ones from ebay and i installed it on his car last week
it sits almost identical to the factory ones
only difference is that it doesnt thave the rubber thing on the edges that the oem has so overtime, it could leave a light mark on the front bumper
good bang for your buck man
i no know that if my OEM ever gets damaged...id order the ebay spec 1 aswell
