    Shuttering upon acceleration when turning

    Hi all,

I know a similar thread like this has been created, though I believe this is quite different.

I'm currently driving a 2006 Civic FD and I'm encountering some vibrations issues. This shuttering occurs when I accelerate after I've made a complete turn (either right or left).

This also happens when I turn a full circle at very slow speeds and seems like the engine wants to stall when doing so.

This shuttering doesn't occur when I'm at a standstill and going forward.

As compared to thread http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...-turning-left., it's different in that vibrations doesn't occur during the actual turns.

I've already went to the mechanics and they've checked the drift shaft and CVs - though they tell me all is fine. However, it's happening again...

    Any insights?

    Thanks!

    How bad are the vibrations??

Is the car under warranty still??

Take it to honda , and get them to do a thorough check.

To clear this up, what your saying is , that when you have the steering at full lock either left or right, the vibrations occur. Do note that when you put the steering at full lock, it puts extra load on the engine / pulleys and other crap that are driven on the same belt as the power steering pump, and in this case for the R18( civic motor) everything is driven by a single belt.
I MISS VTEC.... BOOST is OVERATED lol

Vibrations aren't that bad, no cranking sounds at all.

The car isn't under warranty anymore, so that sucks!

It happens even when it isn't at full lock - happens on a normal 90degree street turn and during the initial acceleration after the turn, after that it's fine.

Could it be that the wheels aren't properly aligned?

Maybe the wheels need to be tightened? And yes could be alignment.

But its a slow speed cornering, i dont think it'll shutter as bad as you described it with a bad alignment.

busted engine mount? more stress from having the steering wheel turns since the power steering pump is working
so it's fine going straight but not when the wheel is turned/ps pump is putting load on

Slow speed - around 20 mark
    I'd assume it's still in 2nd gear

20km/h in second gear coming out of a 90 degree bend will cause a bit of shudderring until it picks up speed...
