d16y4 turbo grind cam query & gearbox selection??

    Hi,

does anyone know where I can get my hands on a turbo grind cam to suit d16y4?

Also, what is the difference between the d-series gearboxes, I need the one with best gear ratios to suit my turbo build....can anyone educate me?

i'm pretty sure the VTi gear box has more aggressive gear ratios than gli and cxi so VTi probably would be best for you (to the best of my knowledge)
    good luck mate

Can try Tighe Cams in Wacol for a cam regrind/new cam.

In terms of gearbox... you would want one with the longest gear ratios for turbo right?

Not sure on cam grinds, but for gboxs, depends on what you want.
For ek's i believe that cxi and gli box's are the same, but as stated VTi has different gearing.
VTi box's are geared for acceleration more so, kinda like a b16 box.
Where as cxi/gli box's are slightly longer gearing (designed for slightly better fuel economy)
It depends on what you're after, but imo i would go for the cxi/gli box for a slightly longer gearing, giving the turbo a little more room to 'shine' as it were.
    My 2c.

Final 4.058 (i got this info from the pdfs on the honda website)

Y8s ratios are exactly the same. The only difference between the 2 are the Y8 has a final drive of 4.250. The best close ratio d-series gearbox is from the 92-95 Y1, but have aluminium shift forks whereas the Y8 has steel.
Just hang onto the Y4 box buddy...

the coupe VTI (d16y8) gearbox is better than the sedan VTI (D16y5) gearbox - BUT there is no way to tell the difference
they are both stamped as S40 B000 - so unless you wach it come out of the car - be wary

the S20 B000 is a guarenteed better ratio though

more info can be found here...

clearly you can see that the S20 B000 and the (Y8) S40 B000 have better ratios and final drive =)
and if you are lucky enough u may find a JDM D15B S20 B000 with factory LSD

as for turbo cams - nothing beats a bisimoto
