    Camshafts+cam gears+valve springs

Hello, since i cant sell my cam shafts i may aswell put them in my car.

I have a set of BCspec3 cams that im gonna drop into my b18c2.
Anyone heard anything positive about BC valve springs and cam gears..cause i can prob get that combo off ebay.
Im currently running Skunk 2 IM, 64mm TB headers and 2.5" full exhaust

If not can anyone suggest a decent brand of springs/gears. I was leaning towards supertech springs..

    Thanks

im not too sure if i heard this correctly but the camshaft u got isnt that much... apparently its like a little bit better then type r cams.. thats what i heard..

but if you gonna go internals i would say super tech valves and springs, toda/skunk2/spoon cam gears, big tube headers, type r box, 68mm + TB, with tune you should make a very good decent amount of power

i got a set of RMF headers so no problem there..i was going to go with super tech springs anyway just didnt know what gears to get. Even though they arent much bigger than type r cams i should notice a decent difference compared to my VTiR cams?? And are valves really recessary?

You should notice a much beefier midrange and top end. These will allow you to easily spin up to 8500+ making power. Definitly need springs and retainers but valves are not 100% required. You should be able to get away with just a lap of the standard valves when you install the springs and retainers. Dont forget a tune.

Where abouts in adelaide are you?

im in the western suburbs, how about u? See i got told i didnt have to worry about valves or retainers...just springs, the tune is the first thing i have lined up so im not cheapening out on there. Really need a decent set of cam gears..i was looking at some AEM ones also

Its true that u could get away with just springs but seeing as ur semi building the head may as well get them. Im running vision vernier cam gears. They are like 80 bucks plus shipping and are basically identical to the tomei ones. It depends on whether you care if your car is dripping with brand names or not. Where are u taking your car to tune? I dont know many honda places in SA.
Im in eastern suburbs, just below Norton Summit road, Touge in my backyard

hahah nice..i know someone who specialises in B series tuning, (he helped me get 117kw atw ). I can get buddy club springs+cam gears for 400 bucks off ebay...bit steep though if you ask me! Dont really wanna cheaped out tho..especially on cam gears cause the last thing you want is cheapys to slip off!!

117kw wow thats not too bad. Who tunes B's in adelaide? My gf has a dc2 VTi-R. Been trying to find someone to tune it. its got shit on it already but its still slower than my 3rd gen prelude, which is a bit sad considering its got 2.5 stainless mandrel exhaust, 4-1 header ect. Hook us up with the bloke, cos i just chipped her ecu and im ready to get something done about it. What does he tune with?

What was done to yours to get 117kw atw? thats like 130kw+ at the fly? Im guessing its pretty standard judging by the fact ur just doing head work now.

Valid points on the cam gears, however ive been running the vision ones for over 2 years with no probs. Cant justify spending so much money on a basic part. Do you ever get up into the hills?

supertech springs and retainers. aem cam gears. cam size should be good. too big a cam on stock compression wont be very good as a daily anyway.
