If you rubbed 2 pieces of metal against each other, one with thin oil and one with thick, which would make more friction?

    Depends.

If the 2 pieces of metal are at a fixed distance between each other (and does not budge), the thicker oil could create more pressure, and in turn, create extra resistance/friction.
