Just wondering does anyone know how i can make my D16Y4 rev higher and harder without spending too much? How high revs can you take a stock D16Y4 safely without worrying about damaging the engine?

    Where is the redline?

Just because u can rev higher doesn't mean u will be making any more power than u are now.

As for making it rev higher u could get a piggy back ecu or u could disable ur limiter but i don't suggest that.

    OR

I could just be totally wrong hehehe (most likely)

    That's right.

If you want to rev higher, your head has to be able to handle it. It's easy to remove the limiter but if the engine is not designed to rev above the redline all the time you will eventually blow it up.

What is the redline for a D16Y4 engine? I just want to be able to rev a bit more freely. Right now it seems to struggle around 3,500-4,000 but i would have thought it can go a bit higher.

what's the point of wanting to rev higher? your car stops making power after a certain point so why don't you find out where that point is

get an aftermarket ecu that will allow you to adjust fuel settings and fuel cut-off points

put it in neutral and slam the accelerator :P

but yeh u will need a replacement ecu/rev limit remover to go higher.....

What would be required to make the car make power at higher rev's ?

would you just need to replace the exhauset manifold and intake ?
or are other parts of the engine letting it down ?
