Rear shock compatibility

Hey.

I've been communicating with a suspension supplier in the states who is certain their kit will fit my aussie ED9 CRX.
This from them.

The front Koni part number will be 8041-1166SP4. The rear Koni part number
will be 8041-1164Sport. These are the standard koni part numbers for the
88' CRX.

However the number for the rear shock I repeatedly come up with (and from the koni site http://www.koni.com/index.php?id=254) is 8040-1078Sport.

The part number 8041-1164Sport is listed for civic and crx 92- with this info -

for non-European cars with an eye-attachment on the rear damper (instead of a U-bracket)

Does anyone know if this WILL fit the aussie ED9 CRX?

Look under the back of your car, is it a fork or eyelet type rear shock? If it's the eyelet type (shock sits IN rather than OVER the LCA) then you want this "8041-1164Sport" According to your description you posted. You COULD buy either, and just swap the LCA to suit the damper, it's not like they're hard to come by.
