[cl9] Leaking in engine bay and sound from rear left.

To start things of, the car is a 2004 accord euro. 91xxxkm's.

Recently I have noticed the sound of the engine at idle has slightly changed so I decided to check the oil which indicates its time for a service but, I also noticed milky water stains everywhere in the engine bay which indicates that something is leaking.

Another issue is a scraping sound coming from the rear left wheel area when it is under load cause by either braking or turning. I recently placed the stock 16" rims back on the car after running 18"+45s. I was thinking that a probable cause could be wearing brake pads ? But the brakes feel the same as before so I highly doubt this. I haven't changed the transmission oil for about 25 000km's so could that be a possible cause? I've checked the tyres for any rocks stuck in them and found nothing.

update. found out that the sound is coming from the right rear so that rules out braking as being an issue. will take the wheel off and take a look later today.

I am wondering if anyone has had similar problems in the past and can help shed some light on the issue before I check it out spending time and money trying to get the things resolved.

Ill take some pics and post them up once my batteries the camera's charged.

tl;dr, milky water stains in engine bay and scraping noise coming from front left wheel under load from braking and turning. what are the possible causes ?

Milky water stains could possibly be coolant. Where abouts are they located in the bay, like is the an area that has alot more? Have you checked all fluid levels?

looks to me like your overflow bottle is overflowing and when ya fan comes on its spraying it all over the engine bay!!! you car must be gettin hot for this to happen! when you car at running temp sqeeze ya rad hoses and see if the sytem is still under preasure otherwise i would say check ya heater hoses as they can leak, and ya engine can get hot but not show on ya gauge!!
I would also say ya brake pads are low and your wear indicators on ya pads are scrapping!

after looking at ya pics again i would say the heater hoses are leaking coz there seems to be more mess at the rear of the engine bay! i suspect a pin hole in one of ya hoses and when it heats up its spraying everywere

A easy way to check for coolant leaks is to go down to a mechanic and ask them to pressure test the cooling system. They will attach a pressure tester to your radiator, pump up the pressure and any leaks you have should become evident.

Are u sure you didnt just drive through a deep puddle of mud or something? Doesnt look like coolant in your pics
