    FD civic auto transmission servicing

    Hi All,

Had a look at the DIY section for auto servicing the FD's, but could not find anything. Is it as simple as draining the fluid, dropping a pan, changing filter, blah blah blah????

Or is there more to it?

    thanks.....

doing it properly you hook it up to a flush machine that basically taps into the transmission cooler line and pumps new fluid in as the old fluid comes out.
Draining and refilling is about all you can do yourself, but that wont really help all that much, you will get 1 or 2 litres out but the remainder of the fluid is trapped up inside the transmission in the valve body and torque convertor etc, no way to get it out without having the car running and on the flush machine.

I can't remember of the top of my head if there is a changeable filter you can get to or not.

If you do anything, be sure to use the honda genuine synthetic auto fluid or the correct aftermarket synthetic friction modified auto fluid or the shifts will be all over the place and the transmission will eventually overheat and die, no if or buts about it, it will.
