    ep3 oil cooler setup

    hey guys
    i just thought i'd share my oil cooler setup which i installed with you guys.
    it was a sh#t fight due to lack of space but was fun doing it.
    couldnt be bothered doing a diy (too lazy)
    please excuse the picture quality (fone)

    The fittings on the cooler should point up.

    you mean the elbows should be above the cooler itself?

    Does that mean the oil filter should be up side down was well? Some people actually do that too.

    Its does not matter either way. Oil is viscous. Any air in the system will taken out when the oil circulates on start up.

    i never was worried about air lock. it is easier to mount this way. i have seen numerous coolers being fitted this way (eg. dr honda's setup).
    my old corolla's factory cooler had the same setup (from factory)
    there is enough pressure for the oil to push air out. its good to see how different people have different thoughts about it
