    D16y1 With Mods?

    hey fella's
    atm i got a d16y1 sohc vtec and i wanna do afew mods to it.........
    i have just bought some XFORCE 4-2-1 headers and im getting a 2.25" exhaust form the cat back when i put the headers on, also im thinking of getting a hondata ecu!
    i have an intake btw.

    will this give the car abit of balls u recken??

    also what else can i do which is relatively cheap which will give it some more power??

    Depends how much "balls" your talking about.. But just serach, topic has been covered in this forum as well as every other honda forum.

    the header might be fine - but 2.25inch is too big for a 1.6l engine.

    Try 2inch from the cat back for best results.

    more balls... then get a zex nitrous kit like i did
    the hondata ecu? would you be better off just getting a chip of somesort

    yeah mate i got 2" exhaust put on the other day, feels like its got more mid range and top end..

    ay fusion wat kind of muffler have u got cannon or the oval ones?....im changing my muffler coz it's to loud n i want a deep sound...

    i'd stick to 2" if it isn't a Vtec system. If you go 2 1/4 your gonna loose the bottom end and only be getting marginal performance on top end. Also the bigger you go the louder your gonna get....

    They feel better than stocks tho more going up hills in forth the raw power
    From what I’ve read so far you may lose power with 2.25 piping, to big for a little D16Y1

    I’m only new to moding VTec’s tho my last 90 model Civic was moded to the shit heheh
    I've been lookinng @ Crow Cams and springs and a hard core timing belt (10RPM's Maybe)

    Iv got a pair of black d16y1 civics that i tuned running around melb both with crower cam's and there little bullets !

    Don't under estimate the power of the d16y single over head engine its a nice.
