Insurance
Just picked up a 94 GSi. First car - wondering who I should go with for insurance.
Anyone got horror stories/good thoughts/recommendations and the like?
-
i recommend REALinsurance! look them up on the website to obtain a quote and compare to , JUSTCAR, AAMI, etc
-
what drove you to realinsurance? were they just better for you overall, or...?
-
Just a cheaper option for me compared to the others and they allow you to pay monthly.

I'm 22, Just off my Ps, and my '99 GSi Teg cost me $450 p/a from Just Car for Third Party Fire and Theft. I found this reasonable, especially when compared to RACV's $750. I didn't go comprehensive, as I only paid $6k for it, and comp was about $1.6k p/a, or $1.1k if my excess was $2k. I figure I'll do some work to it over the next few years, and when I'm 25 I'll start comping it.
Congrats on your purchase! What a great first car.

my only advice is to remember that the money you are paying for is not the peice of paper you get... it's for the service you receive should you find yourself in a difficult situation with a damaged vehicle.
How important is your car to you? if it is i bet you'd like to take it to your own repairer... does real do that?

I'd give shannons a call.
realistically the only way you'll get affordable insurance is if your parents will put you on their policy.

Balls.
Also, isn't Shannons just AAMI/Just Car anyway?

$450 does indeed sound reasonable. And damn right on a great first car

First car and all, I don't really have a preferred repairer. So I suppose that doesn't particularly matter to me.

Best way I recken is to be a second driver and put your parents as the primary drivers. Also you will get a discount if you use the same company your parents use. I'm with aami only pay around 800 for my 03 dc5. Plus with aami you get driver rewards. The less you claim the more rewards and discounts you get. In addition, if you take a free driver learner course(i'm sure all integra drivers won't need this) you'll get a reduced premium. if you go with smaller companies such as youi, they ask too many q's and they insure your car with a larger company such as aami. Better off to be safe and secure with aami than a small start up company such as youi. They practically need customers. Once you fill out the online form they call you strraight away and will keep on calling u until u decide if u want their insurance or not.
i'm a new member. Need quality post point. Thx.Hope this helps.

Nope, Shannons is underwritten by AAI, and is a specialised enthusaist insurer. Based on your responses here they wont insure you anyway...

And thats fair enough... depends on your enthusiasm for your car... if you dont care, insure with AAMI, they will be the cheapest, and it shows in their repair standards too...
