    Just want to ask how high is everyones cold idle
    my cold idle is 1900rpm at the moment
    but I have a friend which only idles at 1200rpm :shock:

    yep!! i was just looking at it today! hahahaha....i was bored and raining and i was sitting in the car waiting and just staring blankly @ the needle...don't ask why though! :P

    Cld idle rev at about 1500 or so is pretty normal for a eg ( being around 10 years old)....it is higher yes than a NEW eg - but this is just from usual internal wear and tear ( tappets , cams , valves , O2 sensor etc) but it is more noticeable as your eg gets older - or if u drive it quite hard

    mine idles around 1800 when fully cold but the needle goes down slowly as the engine heats up

    I noticed as well that sometimes the throttle positioning screw also causes the revs to raise/lower depending on the heat.

    There is IACV valve or cold idle valve at the back of the intake manifold.
    U can adjust your cold idle there however you need a special key to turn the thing. :evil:
