Exclamation Where too get Sub Boxes?

Hey guys. Finishing my system off and am in need of a sub box. Does anybody know where i can get my hands on one? I havent tried autobahn or JB because i think there a little over priced for just a custom sub box.. It was something like 300 bucks.. Any help will be appreciated as it is urgent..!!
    Thanks.

If its one that sits in the hole in the boot, hit up ebay.com.au. I saw them on there for $65 iirc last week.

sub boxes are not a 'one size fits all'.. The sub will have specific dimensions required for either a sealed or ported enclosure, for optimal performance.

Check the manual that came with the sub to see what volume is required, then get a box that best fits the space.

$300 buks will buy a lot of MDF and a router, why not try and make yourself?

depends what you mean by 'custom'..

a simple square/rectangle/wedge style box made to any volume.

    OR

a fibreglassed one where the backside is moulded to the car, can be made to any volume you want but uses less boot space.

im guessing the latter cus $300 sounds like the base price of fabricating one from a specialist. tho i wouldnt trust autobarn or jb to do it. if theyre asking $300 for the 'simple box style' then tell em theyre dreamin! have a go yourself. have you worked with fibreglass before?

Hey dude, yea for sure.. But we drive s2000s.. Boot space isnt a luxury, its a privelage. LOL I would love to have optimal sound, but with what we got to work with im not in a massive fuss.. I made one for it once, for a 15'' sub. It was good, but you can always tell the difference between DIY and PRO..

Sealed enclosures dont need to be all that big, it all depends on the sub u are trying to use.. the smaller the sub, the smaller the box required. i know what u mean with luxury boot spaces, spent months building up a custom fiberglass, molded sub box, to not take up any unnecessary space.

Can you tell us what sub / amp you plan to install? Better to get the dimensions correct before you try and DIY

Its a CVT Kicker 12 inch. Shallow one, and ill be running a 300 watt rms monoblock for the sub.. I was thinking of fibre glassing it too, but so much time needed.

well a quick google search shows the specs required... http://www.kicker.com/comp_vt

Min Rec Sealed Box Volume (CU. FT., Liters) 1.0, 28.3
Max Rec Sealed Box Volume (CU. FT., Liters) 4.6, 130
Min Rec Vented Box Volume (CU. Ft., Liters)** 1.75, 49.6
Max Rec Vented Box Volume (CU. Ft., Liters)** 2.25, 63.7

Seems to be a few slim / sealed boxes available, would just copy up the specs to make 1 yourself

I just made a sub box out of fiberglass and mdf that takes up the entire well and makes the boot floor sit completely flush, im no master fibreglasser and i did not have a trouble doing it.

Cost approx $150 all up to make and its sounds bloody awesome!
    VTEC YO!
