i was racing a guy in a EK VTIR coupe tonight and it was weird because it was fairly close. my car is EG VTi so it was like 96kW vs 118kW (him) he had a full exhaust but mine is only standard but has air filter and custom piping. we were even till about 60-70 then his just took off, it was kinda cool. what are your thoughts

My guess is he actually decided to press on the accelerator at about the time he left you.

If the VTiR is like my SiR then 60 is the first shift and 100 is the second shift to 3rd where it really starts to pull hard. Before then the engine never really gets on cam.

the vti engine has more power up to about 5-6k after that he will leave you for dead. the exhaust etc wont add too much to his car. in a drag between a stock vti-r and an exhausted one the driver will probably make the biggest difference.

It sounds like he changed at about 5k into second before v-tec engaged and you probably started to pass him at which point he decided not to change before v-tec again =)

you should race raytdr he has a stock CXI, it would be more fairer =)
