okay well i got a delsol rolling shell that was a single cam vtech and automatic...

the old owner got a d16y4 and manual box and got in it and stopped half way..

now that i have it iam wanting to change it to a b16a but iam stuck at the fact will it matter if its a b16a or b16a2 ? all the delsols i seen are b16a2...

    any help will be great..

    You bought a delsol with D series?..and now want to fit a B16A?.. :/

Did you do your research and notice that Del Sol's came with standard B16A2?

I hope that you bought the Del sol cheap because by the time you find a B16 conversion and factor in labour cost, it'll probably likely to work out the same if you had just bought a stock Del Sol off carsales!

im pretty sure one of the differences is b16a is cable clutch and from older model hondas such as ef8 crx, Da tegs, ef9 civics. b16a2 has hydro clutch

    You bought this from Boss...

Above is correct about hydro vs cable, though I'm lead to believe some del sol's had cable (read on HT)

you can use either as long as they are around the same year model

b16a and b16a2 can be hydro gearboxes

the animal seems to have purchased a B16A2 front cut, so probably won't run into any ecu or gearbox problems.

    Straight plug and play.

Only AUDM Gen III CRX came B16A2. Jap Spec Gen is the Del Sol, AUDM is a CRX 2Dr Civic,

as above JDM did come SOHC VTEC with the Electric roof

As for the engine, it can be a B16A or B16A2 or B16A3 as long as the engine is the same age or newer that the chassis
