Expensive. OEM from Honda will vary from approx $1400-$1500 over the counter. Kia doesn't make parts nor does Honda, the parts come from the same parts manufacturer in this case, some Mazda models included, so 4:44's can be had from Mazda too. Kia doesn't sell 4:11's, and only offer 4:77's for there Sportage. So technically your not placing Kia parts in your diff, your placing another option from the same parts manufacturer.

my full rebuild is costing liek almost 4k including new casing and bearings aswell and labour

    Hi Guys,

Taken on board your advice, picking up a kia 4.77 final drive (crown + pinion), brand new oem diff bearings (front, rear), oem crush collar and all seals. Will have all this tomorrow.

Not 100% sure if it's the diff but i know these things arent the best so imma be on the safe side and replace the diff parts anyway. This is my daily so i can't afford to break down.

Anyway boys will let you know how this all goes.

^^^ I agree w/vyets that it won't make it stronger, but having a NEW crown/pinion should be better than the 15year old one that is currently in there anyway. May as well do the whole thing while it's open right? + It gives you better acceleration!

Do you mind giving us a price break down on your new purchases OMGJAI? Don't forget to purchase the "yellow box" to correct your speedo.

    Peace.

    hey man,

    Whats this yellow box?

No one on this thread has stated that this will make the diff stronger and i did not state that i'm looking to make the diff stronger. I just want to fix the issue with my car that's all.

Anyway, i'm purchasing the lot brand new for 800 bux by the way.

I really wanna know how much your getting your Gears for from KIA.

Yellow box is a add in thing for your speedo to re-calibrate the speed calculation since you have changed your gear ratio.. You can purchase this from I forgot what's his name on S2ki but if you google it, you'll find it.

the only way to strengthen the diff is 2 change ur casing to puddymod or comptech housing and probs the lsd unit itself.
    "OMG.JAI" u paid 800 for ur 4.77s?
i paid the exact same price for my 4.44s including cryogenic treatment

Basically expose the parts to super cold temps. Hardens the steel but also makes it more brittle.
