My eg is not very quick to cool down, just serviced also. After about 30min it is finally pretty cold. Turn on recirculate, crank up the fan speed and close the passenger vent to get the coldest A/C. also tinting helps keep the heat out a bit.

not really, unless my car is sitting in the sun all day in 30+ heat, then it takes a few minutes to get cold, but if its undercover and shaded, then the ac is cold from the beginning.
if its super hot, then i run it on 2 to keep the temp nice and crisp, but usually 1 is suffice

my old eg air con worked a treat. tinting helps hella heaps to keep the cool air. try getting it re-gased from a quality place.

It is a 15 - 20 year old four cylinder motor turning a 15 - 20 year old compressor designed for a small car.

I think if you call them weak then you're being a bit too critical.

    Go buy a new Commodore 6.0 V8.

you're sure to have good A/C.

I drove my cxi in 30+ heat and for the first min or so the air con was hot but once you get over that minute it does the job fine and after a few mins the cars nice and cold. Could be cause my cars a 2 door and theres less to cool.

My settings are fan speed on 4 and on the coldest setting with recirculate on.

well.... i drive a del sol and had the whole ac system serviced just few days ago.
    much smaller cabin with the pretty same ac compressor to other EGs;
i felt as if i was in the northern hemisphere this afternoon lol
my trick is wind down all the windows, using external circulation for a minute
close all the windows up and use in-cabin circulation
    it works everytime (Y)

i'd like this thread if it had a like button..

Yea i thought i was the only one.. My eg5 takes a while to cool.. Might consider tinting it soon if everyones recommending it..

My sister's ford fiesta gets cooler instantly and its really cold..

By the way, anyone experience the hesitation/laggy on low rpms when you accelerating when the aircon is on? Cars eg5 with b16a.

I got pitch black tints too. I really believe the EG units are weak. Second EG and same issue. If it is an issue I suppose.
I got a B18c7 in mine and yes laggy load the compressor puts on the car. I got a hesistation even with the aircon off when the car is cold. DIfferent problem no doubt .

I had an aircon place double check my system past these few hot days. Everything is working as it should.

My Nissan 200sx S15 and my prado aircon is way colder.

I have no problems with mine, it's icy cold but it takes a min to two to get cold, but I do have really dark tint and iit sure does help!
I do however have engine hesitation when its on, I guess its normal since the compressor is an extra load on a D16 engine.
What I have found for some reason its more efficient to leave the A/C on No.2 fan setting with recirculate and to the coldest. Idk if its just me but it works

At least you guys have aircon...

My EG has an awesome fan only unit that specialises in recirculating and blowing hot air back in your face.

I wonder how much it costs to get an aircon setup installed...hmm...
