Eg vs. Ek - which to choose

    Hey guys
Tried doing a search about the eg civic vs. ek civic but couldn't find anything
    The question is :
I'm in the market for a new daily. Narrowed it down to the eg gli or ek gli civic, manual hatchback's only

Thus - From experience, can anybody tell me what is the better car to buy in terms of driveability (ride comfort, space, etc) and ease of performance modding?

I know the EK has a 1.6 whereas the Eg 1.5, and thus has a bit more power
Im just undecided in to which to buy, Yes I have test drove both, and decided I like the look of a JDM eg more than an Ek, but the Ek feels more comfortable to drive, but still can't decide which to go for, seeing as i've never owned a civic before and don't want to regret choosing 1 over the other

Another question I'd appreciate answered is which is lighter and handles better with a few basic mods ( coils, I/H/E )

    Any help appreciated, cheers

Ek would obvious have the better chassis to start off, newer an slighty stiffer chassis, an ofcourse, newer engine an interior

id say stick to eg if ur planing to drop in a engine, an plan on track work, simply cause its lighter

personally i would go with the EK

i have an EG - but the EK is newer and nicer - but slightly heavier

if i had a choice to swap my EG for an EK - i would do it tho

I just think that the EG looks a lot better on the outside, nicer curves. If you're going for a GLI daily driver though I'd get the EK one because it's a 1.6L instead of the 1.5L EG, and it's newer.

well it does seem like you are doing eg route for the jdm rep. when it comes down to affordability.

upgrade the motor to sohc vtec?
cheap and it doesnt blow out the: investment vs resale ratio
    plenty of aftermarket support

thats it go get one now!
