    Knocking noise at full lock

There's sometimes a continuous knocking noise at full lock. Any ideas of what may cause this? It's on a dc2r.

Sounds like the CV boot is gone.

i think you mean to say that the CV joint has gone. yes the boot has split, which in turn allows all the grease to get thrown out & stops lubricating the CV joint, but a f**ked CV boot will not knock. after a while the CV joints wear out & start knocking on full lock (in extreme cases it will knock while driving straight)

do a nice easy check. full lock in both directions and see if it knocks. if it knocks only in one direction, one shaft is gone. if it knocks in both, then both shafts require replacing. if you are located in melbourne pm me and i can quote you on repairs

fark. Another vague question that gets vague answers !

    To the op.....tell us this.

    1. Car is standard height OR lowered ? Springs or coilovers etc ? If so , when were these installed or last adjusted?
    2. How many ks on the chassis ?
    3. standard wheels or aftermarket wheels ?
    4. hit a pot hole or gutter recently ?

Thanks stndrd, I'll get in contact and yes I'm in Melbourne.
The car is mechanically standard, with no aftermarket suspension or wheels. Don't think it's a result of potholes.

You didn't answer, is it a 'knocking' or 'clicking'? Just need to verify.

No. A click is a higher pitch sound than a knock and is 'clipped' off quickly. Knock is deeper and might resonate a little bit.
