    s2000 advice

Hey guys just thought I'd get some advice/feedback.

I'm considering putting a deposit on this GPW s2000 2001 model, but there are some little things about the car which makes me think twice about it.

I've test drove the car and brought a mechanic along, the engine and transmission seem great, no rattling noises, I checked oil levels and they're all fine, overall performance wise car seems fine and runs smooth.

Its just the back plastic window is a bit blurred up but still can be seen through it though.
The driver side carpet (yes carpet, not the mat, its also where the mat does not cover which is visible ) has a tear about 5cm long and roof has a little hole less than 1cm.
Car has done 120,000kms and asking price is 25,000.

What do you guys think? Would the minor issues be a pain to fix up? And do you guys think it's worth buying?

the roofs wear as does the carpet so this isnt un common.

most s2000's around this age will require roof repairs/change.
maybe use it to your advantage with negotiations on the price of the vehicle

I'm guessing little wear and tear items is why you're paying $25k not $75k.

    Thanks for the replies!
Do yous think 120,000 too high? and would anyone know a good place to maybe fix up the tear on the carpet?

    Cheers!

It's a MY2001. It's 10 years old. That means it's done 12K a year. Not really sure how it could be lower mileage unless it was stored in mothballs.

It's irrelevant anyway. I'd sooner buy a car with 150k that had been well maintain than one with 50k and hadn't.

Get one piece Muz mats, better than carpet and will cover tear.

Mines 2000 and i bought it 8months ago.Its fairly good condition with 29,000km on the clock. The rear plastic is slightly blurred.Bits scratch front bumper and rear.Overall service, dumping all the fluids, oil, oil filter, air filters, spark plugs, pollen filter, changing the brake pads as its crack and not too responsive.2months ago did the oil change myself.Learning the hard way changing dot 4 twice before going back to honda brake fluid.Overall i am quite happy with the car and i am still spending $$$ trying to keep it a fresh.Perhaps next will be touch up of paint.etc.Sooner or later the clutch and the soft -tops need to be change. Its a vicious cycle as we are not buying brand new cars.So spending the money is justifying .I would encourage you to buy the car if its genuinely 120,000km as stated. Its a great car and besides its HONDA with not much problems once their parts replace.Lastly! Its a great car ,fun driving especially on an open road too.Good luck.

Little issues can be rectified the main thing is to make sure its mechanically aok and the body straight (i.e no prior accident damage).
