    S2000 Brass Button Clutch

Just bought a s2000 which came with a brass button clutch and its a head ache getting off on first gear it barely has a friction point and grips so hard and car jolts even when you release the clutch out slowly and perform a "perfect shift". My mates have driven it and they pretty much suggest getting a OEM one

My question is and excuse my lack of knowledge, if i wanted to change it would i have to also change the flywheel or just the clutch. I visited a few mechanics and the mentioned i had to change both. i'm just making sure so i dont get ripped off.

    Thanks

Did you get what make the clutch was off the previous owner?

Really depends on if it is a combo clutch/flywheel. Like the Ogura clutch flywheel (not that it is a button), but that for example you would need to change the flywheel too. If its like an exedy button clutch, then the flywheel would mate to a stock clutch.

I'd try and figure out / talk to previous owner first to find out whats actually in there.

Clutchmaster Stage 2 is the FX200, it is not a brass button. Its a full face disc. All clutchmaster clutches can be used with OEM flywheel, so thus an OEM clutch or say exedy HD clutch will work with your clutchmaster flywheel.

So you don't have to change your flywheel as much as your mechanics tell you do.

Are you sure its a FX200 and nothing more, because these would be very drivable.

Thats a stage 4 and can be used with OEM flywheel. Ie. no need to change your flywheel as the oem or exedy HD will fit it.
